The Penarth Practice held an Open Day Charity Fundraiser in aid of Ty Hafan on Saturday, 3rd September and raised £134 for the local children’s hospice from the sale of raffle tickets, cakes and refreshments at their main therapy space at Enfys Studio Health Centre in Rowan Close.
“Despite the torrential weather of biblical proportions, we had a fabulous turnout,” said Enfys Jones, Partner at The Penarth Practice.
“The two special presentation talks were well attended and we sold plenty of cake and raffle tickets!” she explained.
“The talks concentrated on how the brain works, how challenges such as Stress, Anxiety and Depression are created and how Clinical Hypnotherapy and Solution Focused Psychotherapy can help as well as with a wide range of issues, including mental health problems for children, teenagers and students.”
“Based on the leading-edge SFBT (Solution Focused Brief Therapy), we show people how toconcentrate on strengths and solutions rather than dwell on problems as well as how to relax and to stop piling more and more into their ‘stress buckets’. Progress is proving to be faster and longer lasting than other forms of Psychotherapy” added Miss Jones.
“There were also group relaxation sessions and all who attended certainly left calmer and more chillaxed,” said Gareth Strangemore-Jones, also Partner at The Penarth Practice.
“We gave free stress tests to visitors and passers-by, using a Psychometric Biofeedback Meter, which measures a range of chemical responses in the skin to determine a relative state of anxiety or relaxation and the results are surprisingly quick and accurate!” he explained.
“Again, the weather meant there weren’t as many passing walkers, joggers and cyclists along the old railway track but people can always have a free stress test, just call us on 02921 409218.” he added.
The Penarth Practice would like to thank all of the fabulous Penarth businesses who donated prizes to The Ty Hafan Raffle, including Jo’s Organics, Rowley’s The Jewellers & Gift Shop, Hi Plan, Snell’s Stationers, Lazarou Brothers Hairdressers, Lily Pad Flower School, Lush Butchers, Crepe Escape, Washington Pharmacy, The Dragon Shop, Wason’s, Guy Wooles (Local Art from Artisans Corner) and Heidi Dowling Crafts.
